Hello, I have a FIle from Mercedes C200K with Siemens ECU SIM4LE.

I just try to find some maps. Unfortunately, it is looking so different from Bosch files, that I'm lost. I'm also not sure if I have imported the file in WinOLS the right way.

Can somebody help me, pleaase! The car has increased boost and needs more fuel in WOT and reduces the ignition from 5000 UPM due to Mass air flow sensor saturation.

Hello,

Which tool did you used to read the ECU? Did you go through OBD or BDM? I suppose that you've changed the compressor pulley and now you have much more air but fuel is still limited?

I can not help you but I am facing similar problem and I would be very grateful if someone can share some experiences with Siemens gasoline ECU-s. I am quite familiar with Bosch EDC 15 and 16 but totally lost in SIM4LE (or SIM4LKE in my case). I wasn't able to find any Damos files or some data that would help finding maps.

Yes, you are right. I used the Galletto tool, so this is only the flash, right? I know now, that it is better to have a BDM readout (don't know how to do this)

I found some maps with WinOLS now and see some axes, a number followed by the elements, but which axle corresponds to which map?

Haven't found Damos files.

Thanks to the robustness of the M111 engine, it is save enough to use high octane fuel, but on the M271 engine I doubt that.

The AFR is 14.3 at WOT and the ignition is reduced above 5000 rpm, I think this is because of the saturation of the MAF to 180 g/sec. ?

So many people are running this cars with increased boost, but nobody noticed this (?) I have log files from a C230K and C200K with the same behavior, so if you increase boost you loose 1000 rpms (and 1200 on 230K).

PS: Kleemann clamps the MAF and MAP sensor on the M271 engine to trick the ECU.

Why do you think using high octane fuel wouldn't be safe? It is even safer. All physical properties except octane number are normally more or less the same, so the same calorific value. It the fuel is more resistant to self-ignition (which is in this case), it will start knocking at higher temperatures and knocking is the thing that will damage the engine.

When you increase boost pressure the temperature of the compressed air will become higher resulting in higher in-cylinder temperature at the point of ignition. So in some case auto-ignition can appear before the spark. You can avoid knocking with lowering the temperature of the mixture (bigger inter-cooler or/and lower compression ratio or/and richer mixture) or using high octane fuel.

Just by increasing boost pressure, you will not get higher power, because you also need higher amount of fuel, but in case the temperature is to high and knock sensor will detect knocking, the ignition time will be advanced (to keep control over the engine). The AFR will always be kept around stoichiometric since it is needed for normal CAT operation and usual lambda sensor can only measure values around 1. For running engine in reach fuel zones you normally need so called wide band lambda sensor (UEGO), which can trick the ECU.

So in your case, as I understand that correctly, first of all boost map should be adjusted, so ECU will allow higher boost values which corresponds with higher MAF values. Than the fuel quantity should also be adjusted because (sometimes with higher fuel pressure) you need higher fuel amount to keep AFR around stoichiometric. Than you should than use high octane fuel (otherwise knock sensor will cut-off the fuel) and cool the boosted air as much as you can (e.g. use bigger IC).

I have found one description file (A2L) for MB gasoline 2.0L engine (M266) and it is attached. Maybe you can help with this one.

I think I understand you explanation so far.

Well, I was not precise with the M271. The unmodified engine has some mechanical problems, depending of the build year (the 230K (1.8l) recommends 98 octane fuel by default). But the driving on the Autobahn is different to other countries. Here are many drivers who try to go full throttle as often as possible for hours.

Do you know if the Galletto 1260 is safe for writing to the ECU?
