KWP2000 vs Kess V2 vs Galetto plus others?

Postby mraraju » Sat Aug 06, 2016 1:56 pm

Hi All

I trying to pick up as much information as quickly as possible! Firstly I want to try and fix my car and in the process find out how to do other cars. I would like some information clarified, it may also help other people who are new to this!

I would like to know what is the main difference between all these types of programming hardware apart from the obvious (some being professional equipment, some only working on some types of vehicles)

I found some lists of vehicle which each device works with:

KWP2000 -
Read and Write
Works via OBDII
Compatible Cars: Alfa Romeo, Audi, BMW, Chrysler, Cirtoen, Ferrari, Fiat, Ford, Honda, Hyundai, Izuzu, Kia, Lancia, Mercedes, Mini, Nissan, Opel, Peugeout, Renault, Rover, Seat, Skoda, Smart, Volkswagen, Volvo

Kess V2
Read and Write
Works Via OBDII
Compatible cars: link - https://docs.google.com/viewer?a=v&pid= ... OGNjNzRkMw (can someone save it and upload it to permanent location?)

Galetto
Read and Write
Works Via OBDII
Campatible cars: link: http://www.obd2repair.com/download/ECU% ... 20List.pdf (can someone save it and upload it to permanent location?)

I know with regards to compatability it's more to do with ECU type, but the make and model would be a good place to start.

I think it would be quite nice to have all the programmers in a table so any one can have a quick look at it for reference purposes.

Hope it helps! We can add to it as people correct me or update it.

Thanks

Hi !

I am new to ecu tuning stuff. I like to learn so I ordered the KWP2000 to start with because it is low price so tell me is it a bad choice. In here sri Lanka there are very limited cars come to our automobile shop they are mainly Nissan,Mitsubishi,Mazda,Toyota,Kia,Hyhundai, and little Tata (Indian) or i missed there are Issusu cars also there. so I am asking choosing a KWP2000 is good or bad choice to start with ?

i believe my friend by buing kwp2000 you mean a clone of it.My personal opinion is that all chinese clones like galetto mpps kess v2 ktag and kwp2000 are all about the same:fooling around and learning but not for proffesional use as they can mess thing up (brick ecu).the newer the ecu the more dangerous flashing it is.So i suggest you buy a bdm tool for the future as if you going proffesionally you will need it for sure..
