How to read & write Bosch ME7.4.6

First connect +12V, - (minus) and K-line wire that you will use for ECU to the Galletto flasher.
Look at the pictures: 2-flasher_side.jpg, 3-female-car-side.jpg you have to be aware that when you look at
the flasher side that the 12V is on the left side, you will figure it out when you look at the mirror images.

Next thing is to connect wires to the ECU pin out,
you have 3 pair of connectors on ecu: 1,2,3, you will use 2 and 3:(4-pair-of-connectors-123.jpg)

CONNECTOR 2
F4 = +12V
H2 = K-LINE

CONNECTOR 3
M4 = ground
M3 = +12V

Than you prepare yourself a little crocodile to attach it to the board - ground of the ecu,
and before you turn on the 12V you have to touch boot pin than you turn on the 12V and after 5 seconds you
release ground out of the boot pin.(5-crocodile-ground.JPG, 6-boot-pin.JPG)

That means you touch ground with boot pin before you turn on the voltage and after 5 sec when you turn
it on you release ground connection of boot pin.

Than you use this file to read ecu: read_bosch_me7.4.6.avi.avi
For writing ecu you use this file: write_bosch_me7.4.6.avi

This little guide was prepared specially for Peugeot 406 Coupe 3.0 V6 users :)

Procedure of turning on the ECU with boot pin grounded is the same for reading and writing.

Hello,
I must change my Bosch ME7.4.6 (on Citroen C5 V6 210HP 3.0l petrol) and I try to retrieve the contents of the eeprom 25C16 (immobilizer) and eeprom AM29ff400 to rewrite on the new (used) .
I currently own the Citroen tools after sale (Diagbox-Actia) that does not allow access to the contents of the eeprom 25C16.
I wish to prevent desoldering components.
Can I use a Galletto V2 with BDM probe (JTAG) and if so how in practice. I noticed that on the ME7.4.6 there was a series of copper pads probably destined for testing and programming module.
I wish to purchase a V2 galletto with BDM, but in the application list, the Bosch ME7.4.6 is not listed!
I asked several dealers who do not know!
Can you help me?
Thank you in advance

Try to chagne e2prom 25c16 (because is CMOS) with 95160 and unprotect eeprom. Then use PP2000 to re-configurate. :)

Flash memory on this ecu can be read/write with MPPS as Generic ME7.XX Boot mode. Before writing you should calculate checksum.

This is not true. e2prom in this ecu is CMOS and write protected (look pin 7 and 8 - are to short). You can't writing anything! Тherefore you can not make new configuration with pp2000 because he has no write access to memory.

the quickes way is to replace eeprom...:

ecuedit wrote:you can not connect to ME7.4.6 with BDM...there is no pins on it :)
You have to work in boot mode.

Full backup in boot mode can be done with KTAG - that's the best choice, than you can make complete clone of the ECU.
But desoldering immo chip is very easy :) 2min job...

Flashing of eprom can be done with galletto in boot mode or mpps v12 as well (generic mode).
