How does immo2 work?

Postby irfas » Wed Jul 12, 2017 9:05 am

Hello, maybe you could share your minds, how does immo2 work? I am talking about the immo which is located inside the tacho Simos 2. My question is: why do I need to read out the ori 93C56 for "immo off" and change it? Why can't I use any other dump of the same ecu? Why it is so unique? Does the ecu has other eeprom, in which it searches for a code match comparing with 93c56?

What if I don't have original 93c56? Can I writte new set of both 93c56 and 29f200(maybe 29f200 look-up value for 93c56).

So in short my question would be: Is the 93C56 and other IC (maybe 29f200) comes in pairs(sets), which is unique for specific ECU?

I am asking because I lost the original dump of 93C56 and I want to fix the ecu. Maybe it is possible to do this, by reflashing other IC, so it will be in pair again.

Hope you understand me.
