I did not read all topic, but reason why I turn off egr in all car is :
1 - clean and more air for motor
2- more air better efficient
3- more air lowest temperature ( diesel)
4- no smoke if egr is blocked
5- if egr don`t work good, can by lowest boost
6- clear intake.

That's exactly what we were talking about. :|

That's an urban myth. Combustion temperatures are LOWER with EGR in functional state.

I dont agree with you for diesel.
For diesel if is more air temperature is lowest. .
For petro more air temperature highest

More oxygen = better burn = more heat produced.

With egr off higher combustion temperaures.

I fully agree. I would even add another one: less consumption. Since I deactivated my EGR my fuel consumption decreased to 6.2 in urban environments and 4.3 in highways. Never seen such values in my 220cdi 143hp merc.

Dudes..be serious guys.
Difference of temperature with and without EGR for EGT is ~30 degrees or less, negligible.
In part load all parameters are varying very little.
I saw tons of researches and laboratory USA experiements with and without EGR on many engines, not just talks.
For Diesel engines, more air is not bad, is bad when you must squeeze turbo to put that extra air, that's why i said all the time, LOWER the requested boost where EGR was active, and open turbo vanes to let engine breath and spit gases out.
EGR on diesel cars is only for emissions and less exhaust gases. Try to put hand on exhaust pipe with and without EGR and see what's the flow of exhaust. Is a very good reason to put those gases back to engine and back and back to avoid put them out.
Timing is naturally advanced by blocking EGR, you don't need to add degrees. Start of injection is one thing, Combustion delay is another thing. Well SOI is the same with or without EGR, BUT COMBUSTION delay is different(moment when fuel makes boom).
Well fuel burns faster, the moment of injection is shorter.
You hear the sound after blocking EGR because of extra backpressure between engine and EGR.
Block EGR forever!

Laws of emission are going to very stringent if u r ut off the EGR NOx emission will be increased even u want to increase engine power.

Hello. Yesterday I tried to put the shutdown temperature EGR c 110 to 105 - 75 to 70 did not work. Maybe I'm not the right thing? The engine started and died. I bring to your attention the files. wakes it work dynamic EGR on EDC16?
