Hi, im swaping the engine on my toyota starlet, im doing it to start my jorney on ecu tuning, my goal is race cars tuning because my father have racing car shop and i want to start tune the cars my self. To start im swaping the engine for one a bit more powerfull and with injection, to do so im gonna run a ecu form another car, Motronic from a Citroen Ax GTI its easy aplication and it comes originaly with a socket that enables to change eprom easily. Now I need some help from you guys, what software should I get to reprogram the eprom´s ... I know its a old techonlogy but i would like to start from here to learn and evolute before destroy some expencive engines XD What stuff do I need ? I already know some hardware but i would like your opinions on how to start.

If you are going to use a reprogrammable eprom you're gonna need a "Eprom programmer". My sugestions are willem programmer, it's good and you can find many of them in Sivava website.
You probably need to remember that you should by some equipment:

-A soldering station
-an EEPROM programmer(Willem)
-EEPROMs
-Soldering Accessories

Being honest with you about the software, for pertrol cars, you can use Winols but you gonna need a lot of attention, dedication a study a lot so you can find each map, i never tuned a petrol car, but if you buy a aftermarket ECU they come with a original software and some of them offer you a base map so you move on and tune it.

Of course it's more easier with the aftermarket ecu, at this momment i cant remember more softwares, but there is more of them.

By the time you have bought a programmer, adapter (might not need one with the starlet ecu) and an eeprom or a uv eprom eraser you may as well just purchase a piggy back system. They are a lot more fun to tune.
