Hi all,

Just getting into EDC16 mapping and ran into an issue. Reading the ECU with MPPS cable from ebay. If open the file up in winols 2.24 it says that 2 checksums are not correct.

I found some other original files on here for a very similar ecu engine combo EDC16 BEW and they both open with no checksum errors.

anybody seen anything like this?

My thought is maybe someone previous had messed with the flash on the car and done something improper?


My plan going forward is to correct the checksum on the original to make winols happy then flash that file to my car.

if that goes well then i should be able to continue as normal. if not then i should be able to re flash it with the original file that is not checksum corrected and figure out where to go from there.

Just did exactly what i was thinking above, reading correcting checksum then writing and it seemed to work flawlessly. so now i have a solid base to start on and make changes!
