EDC15C7 IQ temp limiter - used or not??

Postby sike_145 » Sun Aug 10, 2014 7:35 pm

Hi!

Can anyone confirm if temp limiter on EDC15C7 at address $7827C have to be modified too if I wand more than 65mm^3 of fuel per injection?
Orig file is at:
http://www.ecuedit.com/resources/alfa-romeo-156-2005-1-9-jtd-8v-m-edc15c7/3682

I saw on internet many tunes that does not touch this limiter...so is this limiter used by ECU or not? And if yes...when is used...80 and over 80 degrees only or below 80 also?

Thanks!

Look on EDC15C7 damos and You will see, that it is IQ limiter by temperature. So it must be changed if You want more IQ.

Hmm...strange...I put remaped file in my ECU without touching this limiter, and with MultiEcuScan I can see that injection quantity goes above 65 mm^3 which is limit in this IQ/temp map. So I can assume that this limiter is used only when temperature reaches 80 degrees, not before?
This is logged parameters:

Engine speed: 2063
Total fuel quantity: 71,07
Intake air quantity: 1079,9
Boost pressure: 2312
Fuel pressure: 1064,4

Another strange thing...before remaping, with stock maps, MultiEcuScan logged max. of 65,12 mm^3 of fuel, which is also over 65 and also over max IQ in stock TL map (60,9 mm^3 at 2500 rpm). This is logged parameters with stock map:

Engine speed: 2177
Total fuel quantity: 65,12
Intake air quantity: 1062,8
Boost pressure: 2224
Fuel pressure: 1060,4

Can someone explain this to me?

No...I'm watching Total Fuel Quantity. Am I watching to wrong parameter?
What is difference between Total and "normal" fuel quantity?

Well...with MES I have this values for:
Pilot injection fuel quantity - allways 0 !?
Fuel quantity - in general, smaller value than Total fuel quantity, but sometimes is bigger than Total fuel quantity !?

Maybe is MES not working OK?

And forgot to ask...in TL and other IQ maps...what values are for? For main injection or pilot+main?
