EDC15C2 Peugeot 307 2.0 HDI 110 FAP

Hi,

I've just been looking at WinOLS and following some posts here I have loaded an original file and made the changes to switch off the EGR. The bit I am unsure of is how the checksum should be dealt with. If I use the WinOLS Edit|Checksum menu option and click the search button in the window that opens I get a list of 12 checksums, 1 patch and 4 segments (or something that starts with s anyway!).

The thing is I have no idea what this really means :oops:

How can I check if my exported modified file has a correct checksum?
And what exactly does WinOLS or any other tool do when it fixes the checksum?
Does it just recalculate the checksum based on the modified file or does it do something to trick the ECU into thinking the checksum is inchanged from the original?

P.S. I would post the files for someone to take a look but it seems I can't yet, at least I see no button for it.

UPDATE:

Spent some more time with WinOLS today, learned a bit more and was able to turn off the EGR on my Peugeot 307.
Uploaded to the car and checked measurements with Peugeot Planet and sure enough EGR Valve and EGR Air Doser were both showing 0% Duty so it looks like it worked.

Tomorrow I will unplug the two solenoids and make sure there are no errors.

Good result :)

I unplugged the electrical connections from the EGR valve and EGR doser/butterfly solenoids today but when I scanned with Peugeot Planet it had an error about EGR butterfly open circuit.

I thought that the EGR 'switch' turned it all off so they could both be unplugged?

Any ideas guys?

Thanks for the reply but the suggestion elsewhere is that they can be unplugged.

I can unplug the EGR valve without any errors, its the EGR butterfly that throws an error.
I've since found out that the EGR butterfly valve needs to be switched of separately in the software so I'll be trying that next and I should then be able to unplug it without any errors.
