E39 525D Railpressure

Postby schlayer » Wed Jun 03, 2015 5:47 pm

I tuned my 525D to operate around 70 mm^3 and a max boost of 2400mbar. At higher rpm i have a AFR around 17:1.

I havent changed my max railpressure of 1350 and only increased the railpressure to 1350 at 3.5k rpm fullthrottle.

Has anyone playing around the rp on this engine and has done dynoruns or acceleration result? Does increasing railpressure lead to more horsepower/torque?

My question is: can i increase the power on this engine by changing the railpressure without increasing the injected fuel anymore?

I am currently on my max boost pressure and air ratios (around 17:1) so i am not able to increase the injected fuel amount without leading into a smoking fullthrottle :D...

The reason i ask for it is because of the existing headroom of my railpump.

The Bosch CP1 should be "safe" up to 1700 rp (1700 =>only with changed fuelpump) and the railsensor could handle up to 1500 rp.
My durationmaps are going up to 1450 rp. So i only have to increase the rp limiter and the according railpressure map if more railpressure increases my power :)

Hope i asked in a clear understandable way
