Hi friends,

Maybe stupid question but i can''t find any info for this; is term of "DPF = FAP" or DPF and FAP different? Some peoples and some cars using "FAP" term but mostly used DPF. I want to just know, is FAP and DPF terms are different?

Regards,

Same thing:
Diesel particulate filter (or DPF) -english
Filtre à particules(or FAP)-french

Minis never die. They just get faster
If you speed up on curves instead of slowing down you probably own a MINI Cooper.

Since DPF is mainly used for germans cars I thought the acronym stands for Diesel Partikel Filter :D

Actually FAP is a registered trademark of Peugeot-Citroen

It also works differently from the DPF, meaning that they have a different way of burning the soot. The DPF found in Fiat,BMW,VAG etc. uses (or may use) post-injections to raise the temperature of the filter.

The FAP from Peugeot-Citroen uses a special chemical catalyzer that needs to be refilled eventually

Thanks for this info. I looked at some abbriviation dictionary in English on FAP, which said "FAP = Accelerator pedal or Vehicle analysis protocol". I was wondering about FAP, as I am a newbie on ecu programming. I did not understand why someone wants to remove the Accelerator pedal or Vehicle analysis protocol.

Now I know that FAP is similar to DPF, this makes sence.
