DDE4.0

Postby boRaTDI » Tue Oct 18, 2016 1:04 pm

hello guys,

i have only been modding vag edc15 so far, in the beginning i used edcsuite, but now i can work with winols also. i am not a pro, and its really hard to find maps, but there are so many TUT´s for edc15p so i can find the maps.

now i have a bmw ecu here. the car is a freelander (land rover) and the ecu is DDE4.0.
as i know, this is also edc15. but i know that bmw and mercedes (and so on..) have other ways of tuning, for example for bmw i heard something of lambda (?), i dont know what lambda is

for vag it was enough to mod:
fuel maps: drivers wish, torque limiter, smoke limiter, and durations if the originals dont fit the wished i.q.
turbo: boost target, boost limiter, svbl

so i want to tune the first dde4.0, but where to start ?
are the maps all the same as vag ecu ?
and what is lambda ? :)

would really like to start with "real" modding, and not only vag

thanks for every help

Hi there,
I just joined the forum, I'm also trying to gather information of tuning the same vehicle, Landy TD4 112HP. How far did you get? Did you figure out what values to change? Or perhaps, did you have any luck on finding the map for stage 1?
Thanks!

I'm new here too, and I'm trying to search some information for newbies, now the first thing i want to know is how do u know where the variables are? I think u can only read some binary code from the ECU, so , how can u know what do they mean? can u share some information?

by the way , lambda is another way to present AFR(air fuel ratio), for gasoline, lambda = 1 equal to AFR = 14.7

Hi,

I also startet mapping just a short time ago. (Opel Omega B 2.5DTI - same Engine)
I found all important maps by opening my file and a DAMOS from BMW e39 330d at the same time in WinOLS. Then you line up the 2 files side by side in 2d view and search for graphs that look "the same". If you find one, you go to hex view, look where it starts, mark it and create a new map in your file by pressing k - The YouTube videos from vagecumap helpt me A LOT about how to create maps.
I hope my explanation was kinda understandable :?
