Copy MAP from one car to another

Postby Nelix » Sat Oct 07, 2017 10:45 pm

Hi

I'm sure this is going to create more questions than answers but here goes.

I have a Peugeot 807 2.2 HDi. I have already had the DPF removed and mapped out

I have been offered a Power map from a 2.2 JDT FIAT ULYSSE, same car and engine just different manufacturer.

Can I simply write this to my ECU?

Regards

I know it's a poor shortcut.

Finances do not permit me to do this the correct way, as much as I would like to. I am literally scraping through and trying to find ways to save even just a few pence where ever I can, better Fuel Economy would do that.

When, or if, my finances change I would more than likely get a more accurate map done by a professional but at the moment, that is not an option.

Seriously, this isn't a way to save money, it'll cost you far more....
If you want to save a few quid read out your ORI file and modify it yourself, there's always help here, tho some not-so-friendly will comment lol
just don't use a random file off the net, it's a recipe for disaster

I've looked into modifying map files in the past with very little success, maybe I do not have the aptitude for it LOL. Do you have any good resources for information and I will give it another go.

P.S. The file I have been offered is not a random file from the net, I would be reading it myself from a known good working car.
