Checksum???

Checksum is used as has been said: by the program to check if the file has been altered.
But is also used on a line by line basis of code -for the same purpose.
Most of the eeproms use it on that basis.

So, we take original file, modify it- then the software puts the original checksum back on so the ECU cant detect any modification?

Is that right?

Does MPPS always do this automatically when loading map back on?

MPPS does not modify the checksum automatically
Just upload the file exactly who you are without changes

no that does only work on very few old ecu's about 20 years ago ...
