Alfa jtd 105 SOI

Postby Warbi » Thu Sep 26, 2013 11:19 am

Hi All! I have analyzed my jtd 105 SOI and Duration tables and there is something strange for me. I studied original factory maps of a similar engine like mine (my interface is just on the way to me).
Taking SOI maps and Duration maps I tried to calculate EOI in an excel sheet. First the SOI maps are rated only till 33mg. Furthermore calculated EOI is about 10-13 degrees BTDC in 26-33mg range (from 2250rpm).
I have checked my calculation more times, the same result. It sounds strange early EOI to me. Do you have any idea? Is there any easy way to handle SOI and Duration maps? It was huge work to calculate EOI map manually and again needs high attention to modify and check results.
The 2 SOI maps I have found at 7E3F4 and 7E5F4. These seems identical and calibrated only till 33mg and 3100rpm.

Ok, thank you! I used a map pack which was recommended to me. But seems the map addresses
and the axes address were all incorrect.
With your help I have found it correctly. I think I have also found the axes, now its till 55mg and 5000rpm.
EOI is also fine now, varies aroud TDC. Thanks for both of you!

BTW would you recommend modifiing SOI tables?
I have learned that turbo maps and limiters have no meaning, its a mechanically opened wg
turbo. So its no point to do anyithing with those turbo maps. I have stock 1.15Bar max. and I think
its fairly enough for this small "hairdryer".
So my plan is to increase rail pressure, torque limiter and set smoke map to have cca 10% excess air
at ful throttle. Can I earn some more power with SOI adjustment? Does it have drawbacks?
