406 HDi coupe DeFAP no EGR

All about how to remove FAP and DPF filters

Thank you for this information.

I have been wondering how the file compares to the "180" file that I had been using for about 15 months before removing the EGR.

One of the reasons for joining this forum is to increase my knowledge on the subject so that at some point I may be in a position to create a map to my own specification.

Any information regarding comparison of this map compared to the original would be appreciated.

I have took some time to check this file as I proomised few posts before.
I will post the main issues.

Injection time far too long. Bad fuel consumption, "flushing the lubrication" - if i can express like that, bad combustion efficiency.
Drivers wish is bad. No effect, bad fuel consumption.
Torque limiter is disaster, take look at the picture...
IQ is still the same as original
    N75 maps are intact
Maximum rail pressure is still 1350bar like original...

i suppose this will be enough.

Did you make backup of your original file?

Now I am really intrigued......

So you believe that some "remapers" are simply altering a small number of the maps without fully understanding the effect on the whole system?

It is clear that the map I am currently using accelerates the car much faster than the original (thought the primary reason for the remap was removal of the FAP protocol).

YES. A lot of "remapers" think that they know the system. They state that they can make 30+ hp, but they can not find a simple limiter. Yor file is one of thouse tunes. Of course there are some good tuners outh there.

You can just remove the FAP without a remap. You can "delete" the FAP in the software and you do not need to change anything else.

I too have a 406 coupe, 2.2 HDI, running the map file MrH is running. Is the map file not actually running at 180?

My car has been running this map for a few months now without issue and it does seem quicker. I'm keen to get 180 out of it though but wouldnt have a clue where to start making a new map file.
