206 hdi 1.6 - EDC16c34 - How to manual remove?

Postby Majes » Wed Jun 26, 2013 4:13 pm

Hi everyone!

I can't obtain winols (yeah 1000$), so i have a hex editor which I can see the dpf off phrases:

00 9F 00 00 00 00 00 01 01 00 0C 3B

And as i have learnt here i can see that i have to change it to :

00 9F 00 00 00 00 00 00 01 00 0C 3B

BUT! this string is inside the bin file TWO TIMES! do I have to modify the byte both times or only one? if so, which one of them?

After modifying the file i suppose i have to re-checksum the file. How can I do this without WINOLS?

Thank. you. so. very. much. seriously. hav a nice day!

i see that with this hex editor ( http://mh-nexus.de/en/hxd/ ) I can do checksums.

these are the types:
checksum-8, checksum-16, checksum-32, checksum-64
crc-16, crc-16 ccitt , crc-32, custom crc 32bit
sha-1, sha-256, sha-384, sha-512
md-2, md-4, md-5

Which one should I choose?
where does the checksum byte go? because when I test it it gives me a checksum-8 of 54 and when modded it gives me 52, where do I have to put this 52?

I'm kind of lost right now.

and how can I pass the checksum?

Ill exctract the bin file from the car and i'll mod it and upload it here, and see if somebody can help me with the checksums.

I've seen that there are flashing programs that do it automatically before flashing. Is this trusty?

Thanks for the fast reply!

and here it is.

these days I've been testing with the old file, months ago at the official peugeot garage they updated me the car's firmware. now, i've exctracted the actual firmware and in the updated files, this is the only string I can find (and not duplicated two times, as in the old version):

7F 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 02 01 01 00 0C 3B

I suppose that i have to leave it this way:

7F 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 02 00 01 00 0C 3B

good or not?

I attach the original file and the modded file with what I think it should be as mentioned before. Can somebody please correct the checksums and see if I did it well?

Thanks a lot!

I don't know if your method work, but i have an VOLTA 1.2 processed file for you with corrected checksums as attachment.
You changed only 1 adress in the binary, i don't know if this help to fully deactivate the DPF/FAP, but in my file are more then five changed MAPS, and hundrets of adresses, with a pre-configured routine (VOLTA).

Wait for an Answer from any other who knows, what he say, but here, is the file, and the first changed MAP in WinOLS view.

PS: Sorry for my bad english, but i hope you understand what i want to say..

PPS: I hope its allowed to post such processed files.. If not, please delete it.. Thanks

I understand perfectly, dont worry, i don't think that the most of us are english natives :P I hope you understand me too.

As you say, I will use your file as a second alternative after someone confirms that the first file is ok. If it doesn't deactivate it, i'll try with yours.

I believe that changing that little 01 to 00 just disables the fap/dpf, like an option... (1=fap enabled, 0=fap disabled). With volta or ecusafe (Some say that they are very good for EDC15, but useless dor EDC16) it modifies many things, like cleaning the errors, and wipe to zero everything the car should do when it needs a regeneration or confirmation that everything within the fap/dpf is ok

I tried years ago ecusafe 1.9 and 2.0. didn't work. it even did strange things to the engine, like limp mode, or a non fluid acceleration. I kind of remember that it was constantly regenerating (Win the fan always running, 8-9l/100 km, LOADS of smoke...)

well, as said. I will try the 01>00 file, and if it doesn't work, il try yours!

Thanks!
