2008 BMW e61 520d egr off through obd?

I'm just trying to find out wether it's possible to read and write to my ecu through obd socket with MPps or equivalent..

I have mpps v16 and v13 but can't seem to get them to read the ecu?? What would you recommend I use. Does the ecu have to be removed and read on a bench??

Reading should work, I have 07 325d with EDC16C35 (same as you I think) which reads fine. Haven't tried writing yet, will do within next week or so.

Hi there !
If the car is manufactured after 05/2008, ECU is EDC17CP02/06. Kess of fgtech 53 works good.

Totally agree - u can do it with kess through obd.
